White Privilege, Reaching Out, Diversity, and AGPS: The Conversation Continues
It’s time to continue the discussion we began last fall with the 2016 Conference on Race and Racism! As we seek to share our knowledge and experience from working in and with our groups, it’s crucial that we consider the substance of the message we want to send and how we can better understand the needs within and across our community. Who do we wish to reach? How can we develop our own awareness of the presence and persistence of privilege, and its effects on our relationships with our friends, clients, and colleagues? How can we best respond? And what can AGPS do to support its members and beneficiaries as we engage in the messy process of moving toward growth and enlightenment? We will also discuss how we can effectively continue the dialogue around this crucial issue.
