Passionate Living:
Unleashing the Capacity for Intimacy in Modern Group
Ginger M. Sullivan, MA, LPC, CGP, F-AGPA Washington, DC
Group Psychotherapy is an ideal environment to both study and heal adaptive defense that blocks life’s best offering – human connection. Through their actions and words, group members tell us their stories. Modern group analysis, which focuses on intense emotional interactions between members in the immediate, rewrites these stories.
In this conference, we will identify rigid relational styles and how they detract from both psychological maturation and satisfying connection. Essential concepts, such as grandiosity and shame, will be demonstrated experientially and didactically. Modern group, as the instrument of change, will be highlighted as the fertile ground for hope, creativity, and joy.
