Jessica Fink, LCSW-S

Event Description:

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD. It has been a treatment practice since the 1980s, but isn’t well known in the Austin area. It was initially developed to address the self-blame present in sexual assault survivors and was delivered in a group format. It has since been shown to be effective with other types of trauma and also in individual treatment.

Workshop Objectives:

The participant will be able to:

  • Articulate who is a good candidate for CPT
  • Understand overall treatment goals for CPT
  • Understand how CPT reduces PTSD symptoms by targeting maladaptive beliefs

3 CEUs available for Social Workers, LPCs, LMFTs
