Group 1 Description
Fat Friends Therapeutic Support Group is a fat-positive, trauma-informed therapy group for people in larger bodies who are seeking connection, support, and relief from diet culture and body-based shame. This group offers a compassionate space to explore lived experiences of fatness, including navigating healthcare, relationships, food, movement, identity, and systemic weight stigma.
Together, we focus on building safety, self-trust, and community while unlearning harmful messages about bodies and worth. The group emphasizes mutual support, nervous system care, and the understanding that bodies are not problems to be fixed. Fat Friends is not a weight loss or behavior-change group, but a space for validation, reflection, and reclamation.
Participants are welcome exactly as they are, and no prior experience with therapy or body liberation work is required.
