About Me
Tina Alexander (she/her), LCSW-S, is a seasoned mental health professional passionate about providing culturally humble, client-centered care. As a therapist at the Amplify Center, a clinic within the UT Health System supporting young adults, Tina focuses on fostering personal growth and resilience in a safe, inclusive environment.
Previously, Tina worked at the University of Texas Counseling and Mental Health Center, offering comprehensive mental health services to undergraduate and graduate students. She also maintains a private practice, specializing in individual counseling for a wide range of mental health needs. Tina looks forward to offering group therapy and supervision services in the future!
A former collegiate athlete, Tina has a particular passion for working with high-performance athletes, helping them navigate the unique challenges of balancing mental wellness body image, and competitive success.
Tina is an active member of the Austin Group Psychotherapy Society and has been a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee at AGPS since 2022. Tina is excited to join the board of directors, making history as the first African American/Black person to serve on the board. She looks forward to leveraging her experience to advance the organization’s mission.
Fun fact: Tina is a proud plant mom with over 150 plants. She finds so much joy in nurturing her indoor plant jungle.
