AGPS SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The AGPS Scholarship Fund’s primary role is to extend opportunities for learning and professional development by awarding scholarships to attend AGPS and AGPA Affiliate Societies’ programs. The Fund provides financial support to graduate students, new mental health professionals and members in financial need with the purpose of enabling them to gain access to group psychotherapy education and advanced professional training.

Scholarship Application Info

The AGPS Scholarship Committee must be in receipt of the following application items before being considered for a scholarship:

  1. Completed Scholarship Applicant Profile (form at left). Click here for a downloadable PDF version of the application if you prefer to submit by mail.
  2. Current Curriculum Vitae
  3. Letter of introduction identifying your:
    • Interest in and/or reasons for attending the Conference or Workshop
    • Present and future goals with particular focus given to your plans in the area of group therapy
    • Personal statement of financial need for a scholarship
  4. One recommendation by letter or email from an AGPS member, faculty member, or other licensed psychotherapist who is knowledgeable of your experience and supports your attendance at the event
  5. Completed Registration Form
  6. Completed AGPS Membership Application

Scholarship Application Deadline:

Applications submitted by the stated deadline will receive priority consideration. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered and will be awarded scholarships on a "funds available" basis.

Additional notes:

  • Current or past AGPS members applying for a scholarship must be members in good standing to be considered for scholarship funds.
  • Eligible first-time nonmember scholarship applicants are awarded an AGPS membership as part of their scholarship.

Our Scholarship Fund enables AGPS to provide group training and experiences to students, new mental health professionals and AGPS members in financial need. Helping clinicians access training opportunities also infuses our membership with new energy and enthusiasm for group work.
